OCEA101 - The Oceans

Course Description

This course is a study of the major features and processes of the world's oceans. Topics include the origin and history of ocean basins; atmospheric and ocean circulation; and the dynamics of waves, tides, and coastlines. Students explore the oceans as a resource for people and analyze and evaluate human impacts on marine environments. This course is intended for all students interested in the world's oceans. Advisory:ENGL C1000Limitation on Enrollment:This course is not open to students with previous credit for PHYN 120.
