RUSSD1 - Elementary Russian (First Quarter)

Course Description

Advisory: ESL D272. and ESL D273., or ESL D472. and ESL D473., or eligibility for ENGL C1000 or ENGL C1000H or ESL D005.; *** COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course focuses on the language and culture of Russia. Basic speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Russian are introduced and practiced within a cultural framework. The emphasis is on language as an expression of culture. Oral practice and conversations are performed based on an understanding of the language structures. Language laboratory practice is a part of the regular instruction to reinforce pronunciation, grammar, syntax, and simple conversation.
