SOC107 - Race and Ethnic Relations
Course Description
This course is a survey of the racial and ethnic structure of the United States with attention on the socio-cultural histories and circumstances of racial and ethnic groups. Emphasis will be given to the politics of race and ethnicity including the problems associated with racism, prejudice, cultural misunderstanding and stereotyping, as well as associated social policy, legislation, and issues in popular culture. This course is cross-listed with ETH 107. ADVISORY: ENGLC1000 or ENG 101 with a grade of C or better or equivalent.
