GEOG8 - PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY: WEATHER AND CLIMATE
Course Description
Prerequisite: None. (C-ID GEOG 130) (A, CSU, UC, CAL-GETC)~Introduction to atmospheric processes, energy and moisture exchanges, atmospheric pressure, global atmospheric and oceanic circulation patterns, precipitation processes, weather systems, and severe weather. Analysis of world, regional, and local climate systems, emphasizing an understanding of the mechanisms and consequences of global climate change. Course incorporates lab work focusing on observation and analysis of atmospheric data using charts. meteorological instruments and their use, weather maps, and radar and satellite imagery.
