Course Description

This course studies the contributions to American literature by African Americans, Latino Americans, Asian Americans, Native Americans, and other ethnic minorities. It examines the extent to which literature mirrors or shapes historical and social attitudes, with particular emphasis on the roles, images, and concerns of ethnic groups as expressed in literature. Prerequisite: ENGL C1000
