HIST235 - History of Latin America

Course Description

Recommendation: Courses taught at the level of Introduction to College Composition with a grade of 'C' or higher or 'Pass' or equivalent or appropriate placement based on the college's multiple measures process with eligibility for ENGL C1000 or ENGL C1000E or a course at the level of college reading.This course is a study of the history of Latin America from the development of Pre-Columbian cultures to the present. The experiences of individual countries are studied as an integrated whole focusing on the roles played by the diverse peoples and cultures. Major political, economic, social and cultural factors and issues are presented. Transfer Credit: CSU; UC
