Course Description

Prerequisite: ENGWR 300 and ENGL C1000H with grades of 'C' or better*General Education: Local GE L3 (effective Fall 2025); Cal-GETC Area 3B (effective Fall 2025)*This course surveys representative American literature from the post-Civil War period until the present, with consideration of important aspects of American literary history. Readings--from a variety of stories, novels, plays, and poetry--and discussion highlight the multicultural nature of American literature and society. (C-ID ENGL 135)
